It was a two hour ride to the town of San Juan directly north of Mendoza where I then had a three hour wait in the terminal for my ongoing bus to San Agustin de Valle Fertil. The ride from Mendoza to San Juan offered views of the highest mountain in the North and South American continents combined – the spectacular Mt. Aconcagua, at 22,841′!
During the three hour wait in San Juan for my ongoing bus to San Agustin de Valle Fertil, I spied a curious vehicle parked outside the Police Office that guarded the bus terminal’s activities!
It was a Segway!
The kind policeman took my picture – I didn’t ride anywhere but it was fun just to stand on it! My first time on a Segway!
On the bus again, the surrounding lush greenery was a delight to behold after the dry desert-like areas I had been in!
My bus arrived in San Agustin de Valle Fertil in the late afternoon and by the time I got settled in my hostel, I was hungry! This amazing restaurant was just 3 blocks from the hostel! I could hear the dinosaurs beckoning …!
Set down into the floors are showcases that display what an archaeologist would see while digging into the skeletal bone fragments of dinosaurs!
This red demon was perched over the men’s room …
And don’t even TRY going to the ladies’ room!
The entire restaurant was artfully decorated with the history of their ancient local species!
And then my Caesar Salad arrived! Yum, was IT good!
Goodnight, Mr. Dino! It’s off to bed for me!
A good night’s rest was going to be totally necessary for the huge day tomorrow at the fantastically stunning Nacional Parque Talampaya!
